FOUNDED IN 2012 BY LYNN HOUSTON
In 2012, Lynn Houston founded A Different Point of View (ADPOV) with the intention of impacting the lives of at promise teenagers who lacked confidence in their ability to succeed in the world. As a retired airline captain and former chief pilot of a flight school, she felt her own life experiences, combined with extensive research could translate into a winning formula for youth development. 600 youth have been impacted by these programs. The philosophy behind each interaction and program with youth, since 2012, comes from the Lakota Instructions For Living. Wisdom collected from Sioux elders that taught bravery, fortitude, generosity, wisdom, respect, honor, perseverance, love, humility, sacrifice, truth, and compassion.
At ADPOV, our students get to conquer challenges with the support of capable caring mentors. They're learning to fly and understand the importance of education by giving them an experience no one can take away from them. They're developing self-esteem and getting involved in their local and aviation community. We're providing the tools to life-long success and happiness.
