A Few of Our 400+ Student Pilots
Soraya started flying with us when she was 14. Since then she attended Grizzly Academy, graduated high school (first person in her family to do so) and now has a full time job. Her dream is to join the Army and become an attorney. Soraya is a constant source of inspiration to all of us at A Different Point of View. There is nothing that can stop her from her desire to live a better life and make a difference in the world around her.
15 year old Maria joined A Different Point of View in March of 2015. She was the spunkiest student we have ever had. She was awarded a scholarship from the Adrienne Hall Emerging Leadership Award because of her abilities. Maria is attending Santa Barbara High School and will graduate in 2018, the first person in her family to do so.
Jacob was 16 when he received his first leadership and flight training with A Different Point of View. He continued with us and became an intern with Mike Linhart, I.A. mechanic for Above All Aviation. Now 5 years later he is one test away from becoming an A&P licensed mechanic. AND he is the Skateboard Director for the City of Santa Barbara Parks & Recreation Department.
Chenoah was 16 when she first flew an airplane with A Different Point of View. Now, 3 years later, she is attending SBCC and leading the self awareness through meditation training for us during our Aviation Career Programs. Her leadership abilities garnered her one of the scholarships from the Adrienne Hall Emerging Leadership Award funds. Chenoah dreams of becoming a firefighter.
Lucas was 15 when he started flying with A Different Point o View. He then became an intern for us and helped out in leadership positions with the organization. He recently became our first A&P mechanic to complete the intern program with Mike Linhart and Above All Aviation. Lucas now has a full time job as an A&P mechanic working at Above All Aviation. He also recently soloed and is currently pursuing his pilot’s license.
Jessany was 16 when she started flying with A Different Point of View. Now at the age of 20 she is attending SBCC, has started her own photography business and has become the official photographer for A Different Point of View.
